Principal's Update
Dear Coleman Families,

What a week! We kicked off last week with our Student Council Election. Students in grades 3rd through 5th listened and cheered for all 32 candidates and their speeches. Students were excited and proud to take on leadership opportunities to make Coleman a better place.

Conferences

Monday (today) is a non-student work day, which means students do not go to school, while teachers will lead conferences with families all day. Tuesday through Friday is an 11:50 a.m. release day for students, with conferences after school. If you haven't signed up for a conference with your student's teacher for this week, please reach out to their teacher right away.

Halloween

October 31st is around the corner—Halloween is almost here. If your classroom has a party, it will happen at 1:35, and your teacher will reach out with information. The Halloween parade begins at 2:10 p.m., and all families are invited.

We understand that some families do not celebrate Halloween. We will create a space in the library for students who do not participate in Halloween. Students will have access to fall activities unrelated to Halloween. Please notify your students' teacher beforehand if you do not want them to participate in Halloween activities.

November Intersession - Message from the Office of the Expanded Learning Team

The SRCS Expanded Learning Team has partnered with the YMCA to host a small camp at Sun Valley Elementary on November 25th, 26th, and 27th. In a similar model to our summer camps, only several locations will be activated. For more information, including registration links, please click here

Student Council Elections
Our Student Council speeches and elections were a huge success. We are proud of all of the students who participated in this year's election. A big thank you to Ms. Goodhope and Ms. Kassy for running the elections and student council. Last Wednesday, our students engaged in a peaceful transfer of power. Last year's representatives welcomed this year's Student Council. Great job, students!

Appointments
Parents must physically come into the office to sign out their children before taking the student to an appointment. We will not release children to adults other than those listed on the emergency card. Please try to pick your student up before or after snack, lunch, or recess. Additionally, we ask that you wait until the end of school to pick your students up from school.
