Coleman Families:
Spring into Reading Week
Spring into Reading Week was a huge success. Thank you to our families for supporting to make the week a hit. We love celebrating reading at Coleman!
Reclassification Celebration
I'm thrilled that seven Coleman Tigers were reclassified as English proficient. On Wednesday, March 26, we will celebrate our students' reclassification at Terra Linda High School. Being redesignated as proficient in English typically takes 5-7 years and is a huge accomplishment. To be eligible for reclassification, students need to score a level 4 overall on the English Language Proficiency Assessment for California and score proficient on the English Language Arts portion of the CAASPP or reach the cut point for their grade level through the local assessment i-Ready.
Many of our alumni will apply and receive the high honor of the State Seal of biliteracy for their high school graduation. Students receive the State Seal of Biliteracy by passing the AP Spanish exam, completing four years of a foreign language, and having a 3.0 or higher. This is a huge recognition that many of our students can and will accomplish.
Green Week
This week is Green Week! Our Green Team is hosting a week of events to get our students excited about Zero-Waste. We are aiming to become a Silver rated school this school year reducing our waste significantly. Please ask your students about how the green, brown, blue and black bins work at school and home! Check out the awesome schedule of events happening
