Families:
I hope you enjoyed the beautiful weather over the weekend. Please remember that next week that school is not in session on Monday, March 16 because teachers will hold Caretaker Conferences. Tuesday, March 17 - Friday, March 20 are minimum day release with school ending at 11:50 am. We look forward to seeing you there.
Helping our morning drop-off run like clockwork!
We’re working hard to make morning drop-off safer and smoother for everyone. To keep the line moving and our students safe, please keep these "Pro-Tips" in mind:
-
Be "Ready to Roll": Please have backpacks on laps and save the big hugs for the driveway! The goal is to be ready as soon as you hit the circle.
-
Fill the Gap: If you’re the lead car, please pull all the way up to the stop sign. We aim to fill the circle with six cars at a time.
-
The "Six-Car" Flow: We unload in batches. Once all six cars unload and pedestrians clear the crosswalk, that group moves out so the next six can move in.
-
Watch the Vest: Please wait for the staff member in the safety vest to signal before letting your student out. If no one is present, please follow the "batch" flow mentioned above.
Thanks for staying alert and helping us start the school day on a high note!

Tiger Art on Public Display
We are proud to share that every student at Coleman contributed to a collaborative mural inspired by Faith Ringgold’s celebrated quilt, Tar Beach. As part of this project, students studied the artwork, learned about the concept of a “tar beach,” and discussed the powerful story behind the iconic image.
Inspired by Ringgold’s unique perspective and floral border, Coleman students created their own rooftop view of San Rafael, surrounding it with a vibrant flower border that pays tribute to her original design.
Faith Ringgold (1930–2024) was an influential American artist best known for her intricately crafted story quilts that explore African American history and culture.
The completed mural will be on public display at the San Rafael Public Library (100 E St, San Rafael) throughout the month of March.
