The Principal's Post
Families:

Before our students walk out to Alice Cooper's song "School's Out," on Thursday at 11:50 am, we have a ton of exciting events taking place during this final week! Please be sure to check out the Important Dates and Upcoming Events section below so you don't miss a thing.

I'm grateful to all of you for making this a special year. It has been incredible to watch our students grow both academically and socially. Coleman is such a unique place because of the way our community comes together to live out our core values of Growth, Heart, and Justice.

Talent Show & Celebrating Mr Ray

Before we kick off our annual Talent Show this Wednesday at 8:05 AM, we will be honoring the one and only Mr. Ray Fiuren, who has decided to retire at the end of this school year.
Mr. Ray has been a beloved staple of the Coleman community since 2007. For nearly two decades, he has dedicated himself to supporting our students, staff, and families in countless ways.
Please join us on Wednesday morning to give Mr. Ray the send off and celebration he deserves!

Kids IRL Summer Packets

As we head into summer, Kids IRL has shared a packet of screen-free activities to help keep kids engaged and active. If you're looking for additional resources or would like to connect with a broader community of families working to balance screen time, you can sign up here!

Green Team, Zero Waste, and our Platinum Award

The Coleman Green Team has officially closed out the year with a Platinum Award! Seeing our students live out our core value of Justice through environmental advocacy has been a true highlight of the year.

Throughout this journey, our students have gained invaluable knowledge on how to champion sustainability. Check out the SRCS News from Around the District - Zero Waste; we are proud to have our school recognized for our hard work.

This milestone wouldn't have been possible without the amazing guidance of Ms. Laura, Mr. Estuardo, and Ms. Sheilacy. Thank you all for your hard work and inspiration!

Sammy and Sunny's First Day of School by Nina LaCour

Book Recommendation: Sammy and Sunny's First Day of School by Nina LaCour

It's the first day of kid school for Sammy and the first day of puppy school for Sunny. They both feel nervous, but they end up having a great time-- making friends, playing and napping, and learning all sorts of new things.

That afternoon, they tell Mom and each other all about day one, Sammy with words and Sunny in his own special way. But what will happen on day two? Sammy wonders. And readers are in for a very funny surprise!
Welcome to 1106 Wildflower Place: It is no ordinary apartment house, but you, reader, are no ordinary visitor. So, please, come in!

Two new tenants have just arrived, and nine-year-old Ella is determined to help them settle in. Who better to teach them about the glitchy lights and the nighttime noises? After all, Ella knows all the neighbors. Well, almost all. No one has met the mysterious Robinsons who live on the top floor. Will a special neighborly celebration change all that? This bighearted chapter book by bestselling author Nina LaCour, highlighted by lively illustrations throughout, celebrates community, friendship, family, and home. It is a place of walking dogs that aren’t yours, keeping surprises secret, and making everyone feel welcome.

Lost and Found
Remind your child to be responsible for collecting their lost clothing! Label all clothing and bags that are sent to school. Lost and found is located near the front office walkway and in the multipurpose room. Unclaimed lost and found will be donated in November, December, February, April and June. The school is not responsible for lost items.

We will begin taking clothes to the Goodwill beginning this week. Please check the front of the school for any lost clothes.
