Message from the Principal

Families:

Happy Labor Day! Thank you for a successful Back-to-School-Night (BTSN). If you have any questions following BTSN, please don't hesitate to contact your teachers through the "Message" function in Parent Square or via email. Over the next month, teachers will begin to collect data to review with you during the week of October 9th for Family-Teacher Week. Teachers will have a better understanding of your student and their learning profile during your scheduled conference.

Coleman's interim Principal Mimi Melodia's first day back to school at Coleman (she is an alumna of Coleman) is tomorrow, Tuesday, September 5th. If you have questions for Ms. Melodia, please don't hesitate to stop by or email her at mmelodia@srcs.org. I look forward to seeing you all in 4-6 weeks.

Third Grade Meetup! September 10th, 3-4pm at Pickleweed Park. Join us to mingle and play, meet old friends and new!
First grade meet up is September 24th, 3pm-5pm at Lagoon Park across from the Civic Center. Meet new families and reconnect with others!
Youth in Arts AGLOW Fundraiser is September 21st at Tam Commons. YIA is the nonprofit that provides all of Coleman’s visual and performing arts programming, so book your babysitter, and come on out to support a good cause! Kindergarten Meetup is October 8th, 3-5pm at Bret Harte Park. It’s a great opportunity for our new Coleman Tigers to play and get to know each other. Kid snacks and drinks will be provided!
Last year was such a hit that we will be having our back to school Dine and Donate at Ounces Outdoors again this year! Dine with us on Thurs. Sept. 7th from 4-8p and Ounces Outdoors will donate a percentage of their sales from the day to our Coleman Elementary PTO. Last year the kids loved getting to run in the field, while the adults could meet and catch up outside. Hope you can join!
The Dad’s Group Kickoff Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 9/7 7-8pm at Pond Farm. Open to all who are interested in learning about and participating in the Coleman Dad’s Group. Learn more at https://sites.google.com/site/colemandadsgroup
